We are closing an important stage, facing new challenges

We are talking about plans for the current year and further investment projects of the Group with Stein Christian Knutsen, CEO of Firmus Group.

 

– Last year was a special one for Firmus: for the first time, five investment projects were carried out simultaneously, including the first residential project in Koszalin, OsiedleNorweskie. What are the most important projects planned for the current year?

– Indeed, last year was a record one for Firmus in terms of the number of projects implemented at one time. In 2018, we will focus on finishing these development projects, but our objective is to launch two more and start the third stage of Osiedle Norweskie. Another challenge is the investment project in the Special Economic Zone in which we are involved. For the second time, Firmus will make a Norwegian investor appear in the Zone, who will launch a new plant and give jobs to a large number of people.

– This is the current year. And further perspective?

– As a group of companies, we have nearly 200 hectares of land in Mielno and Koszalin. Planning with such a scale of activity requires diligence and forward thinking. We have ready-made plans for over 10 years, but due to the continuous delays in administrative procedures, we must postpone their implementation. I hope that these procedures will be completed in 2018. If it does not happen, it will adversely affect the scale of our operations, and also the revenues of more and more numerous companies and people who work with us and for whom we are an important customer.

– The opening of the Dune Resort will certainly be of great interest. What was planned in connection with this event? What surprises will be prepared by Firmus?

– The enormous success and scale of the Dune Resort project made it known and respected in Poland, and noticed on a wider scale, internationally. A prestigious publication even hailed it as the “Pearl of the Polish Coast.” This, of course, gives us reasons to celebrate. It is not a holiday only for us as an investor and developer, but more so for all those who bought apartments and are waiting for the finalisation of the entire complex.

We are planning a certain official event before the start of the season and we hope to set new standards in this area, as in the case of our projects. It will probably be a weekend full of events and surprises for 400-600 guests. That is why I will keep the details in secrecy for now. However, the official inauguration of the Dune Resort as a whole will be for us an introduction to future investment projects of Firmus for the next 15-20 years, which are a great challenge. We will surprise again with the scale and momentum.

– The cosy apartment buildings named Rezydencja Park and Rezydencja Park Rodzinna have created a mini housing estate and have exhausted the company’s construction area on Orła Białego and Kopernika streets. They were very well received by customers. Is it possible to expect continuation of investment projects of a similar nature, but in a different location?

– The first six stages of the Rezydencja Park project turned out to be a huge success. This is not only our belief. This opinion is confirmed by the market – huge interest and recognition from the apartment buyers. Currently, the seventh and eighth construction stages are underway, and we have a waiting list for 80 percent of these apartments, even though we have just finished the foundations! It speaks for itself. Therefore, we will continue this type of investment projects, provided that – here I am referring to the previous reservation – we will not be blocked by the lengthy administrative procedures that should have been finished long ago.
